Recipes! Who doesn't love to try new recipe? Well, we love chicken alfredo around here so this one was perfect for us. I found this recipe on the website momsbyheart.net back in July. (There is a picture of it on her website if you are curious) I have made a few times now and love it! It's really easy, and I have decided that garlic is amazing! This is one of Tyson's new favorites too-now that's saying something!
California Chicken Alfredo
Indredients:
1 lb cooked chicken breast
8-12 oz bag California Blend Vegetables (carrots broccoli, and cauliflower)
2 cups bowtie pasta
1 clove garlic, minced
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon salt
Cook pasta according to package directions. In a large skillet, add butter, garlic, chicken and vegetables. Cover and cook on low until chicken is heated through. Drain pasta and add to skillet, along with heavy cream, Parmesan cheese and salt. Cook and stir until thoroughly blended.
Hope you try it and enjoy!

So a while ago Crystal told me a brilliant idea of hers and I loved it so I am copying her and I told her I would. The idea is to write a journal to your daughter! I wish I had done it earlier but better late than never right? So I have started it and today I decided to write down all of the words that Sage can actually say. I have found it to be pretty extensive! Here are some of my favorites...
Papa (Grandpa)
Ya Ya (Grandma for Lynette)
Day (Daylen)
Help (comes out more like Hep)
But (Bus)
Stinky (always said while pinching her nose of course)
Elephant (sort of)
kiger (tiger)
car
bed
um
hmm (I say this when I am looking for something and want her to help me)
head (she says these words-bed and head- mostly when we are singing 5 little monkeys)
Hey
I'm coming
Hat
Moo
hot
yee haw
Beep Beep (I say that to her when I need her to move out of the way. On a side note I was watching the biggest loser last week and I heard her saying "beep, beep, beep" when they were weighing the contestants!)
Shoes
fish (comes out feesh)
stuck
sheesh (I admit I taught her this one on purpose)
and two new ones today... ant, and wait!
We were reading a book today and I went to turn the page and she puts her hand on it and goes wait! Apparently she wanted to show me something before I turned the page.
Her new favorite food is Ramen. (I love how she puckers out her lips!)
We went through a phase where she would refuse almost everything I would give her. Talk about frustrating! Who knew she could live on waffles, milk and pretzels for days on end! Fortunately, she's getting better about eating different foods now.
Here are some more videos of Sage. I tried to post the first one a while ago but I had technical difficulties because it was from my phone so I had to convert it, blah, blah, and here it is! ( you might want to turn up your volume a little so you can hear her.)

Conference and much more!
We really enjoyed General Conference this weekend and all of the speakers. We laughed when President Monson got up the first time in the Saturday morning session and just said "Hello!" really quick and energetic. He cracked me up a lot this conference. When he told the story of when he lost a 5 dollar bill when he was 12, I was thinking that was just over 70 years ago for him, I hope I can remember that far back when I am his age! (you would understand if you knew how well I remember things) Can you believe another temple in Provo? There were so many good talks and topics. With Sage and our internet having a few glitches it was hard to catch everything but I really enjoyed the Young Women President's talk directed to fathers and how to help raise good daughters. Fathers definitely need to be involved. Thanks dad for stepping up and fulfilling that role!
Well Sage is surprising us more and more each day. She is learning so much and I enjoy watching her discover and learn more about life. On the rare occasion that she wakes up after Tyson leaves, she asks for daddy. One day she went looking for him after I told her he was at school, but she just had to check. So I followed her into our bedroom where she looked all around for him walking closer to the bed and wanting to be put on top of it, just so make sure he wasn't hiding somewhere. After I took her off the bed she finally decided he wasn't there after all and walked out of our room and headed to the kitchen for some food. I thought that was pretty precious! Today during conference, yes, during conference (you can hear it in the background), Tyson tested Sage on the shapes that I have been practicing with her. I think he was surprised. It was fun to watch her get excited.
Like I said Sage is learning a lot. I taught her a phrase that I say to her. Can you tell what it is? (Don't you love the beanie? She grabbed it on our way out)
This picture is for Dad. He saw our yard when we first moved in and seemed a little worried or rather disappointed in its condition. (This is after it rained a few times, so it was even worse before!)and here it is now that it has been watered by the lady who lives next to us.
She said the previous tenants in our apartment didn't want it watered for some reason. Crazy to me!
Tyson finally got all of his books and here is the stash. Beautiful isn't it?
